Context

Isolated for twelve centuries, Nulapeiron's billions of inhabitants occupy a subterranean world and are ruled by an aristocracy upheld by Oracles, but now, Lord Tom Corcorigan, the commoner-turned-noble and warrior poet, is fatally wounded, his survival dependent upon a mysterious seer, and Nulapeiron is threatened by a vast, unknown enemy.
