Getting Ready For Kindergarten: Listening Skills

Listening skills prepare a child for school and in particular, for learning to read. The activities and games in this book are designed to help children identify and categorize sounds, recognize rhythms and rhymes, and encourage an awareness of the elements of language. Through cross-curricular activities that incorporate games, music, phonemic awareness, phonics, and literature, your students will learn to attend to the world of sounds around them.
