Coffins

In 1860, in the wake of Lincoln's election and escalating hostilities between North and South, Davis Bentwood, a young physician and proponent of Emerson's trancendentalism, heads for the Coffin estate in Maine at the request of his friend, Jebediah Coffin, a dwarf, to investigate the deaths of Jeb's twin brothers and his father's madness.
