While producing a video about foster children, financed by a prominent Chicago real-estate developer, Ellie Foreman receives a mysterious package in which she finds a surveillance video documenting the murder of a young woman and embarks on an investigation into a crime that leads to a sinister conspiracy of money laundering, diamond smuggling, and murder.
