The Humane Particulars: The Collected Letters of William Carlos Williams and Kenneth Burke

Referring at turns to their own current writing, Williams’ poetry, their reading, other writers, dinner plans, health concerns, and train schedules, the correspondence gathered in this volume between Williams and the critic Kenneth Burke lasted from 1921 until Williams’ death in 1963. Some of the letters include poems by Williams. Many of their letters are surprisingly silly and sweet from a mutual addiction to wordplay.
