作者簡介
柯南．道爾（Arthur Conan Doyle）
亞瑟．柯南．道爾（Arthur Conan Doyle, 1859-1930）出生於蘇格蘭愛丁堡，於1885年獲得愛丁堡醫學博士學位，基於對文學的喜愛，逐漸投入文學工作中。1887年，他的第一部偵探小說《血字的研究》出版，夏洛克．福爾摩斯和華生醫生被推向了大眾面前。兩年後，《四個簽名》的出版更是將福爾摩斯推向巔峰。1891年，柯南．道爾完全投入文學著作，陸續創作約60篇的作品，被喻為「世界偵探小說之父」。
