Irish Literature: The Nineteenth Century

The three-volume anthology is designed to fulfill the needs of students studying Irish writing in English during a century that is gaining increasing scholarly attention. Fiction, non-fiction prose, and poetry is presented that was published during the first quarter of the century. Most of the authors are considered peripheral in the larger body of English-language literature, and their work is often available only in small-run and expensive or long out-of-print editions.
