Having heard stories about the selkies, the seal people who transform into humans when they leave the water, Gavin is excited about the special boat that his grandfather is making for him, but when his grandfather has a stroke, Gavin thinks that maybe the selkies had something to do with it and so is willing to make a barter to make things better once again.
