South Lake Tahoe attorney Nina Riley is confronted by a disciplinary hearing before the California State Bar Court and possible disbarment, after an unknown enemy steals client files from her car and sets out to reveal those clients' darkest secrets, unless her ex-husband, attorney Jack McIntyre, and sometime lover, detective Paul van Wagoner, can put aside their mutual animosity to find the culprit.
