When Vera Was Sick

When Vera gets the chicken pox, her mother puts her in the spare bedroom with the scary wallpaper, and Vera cannot sleep, but being sick has its rewards--her father sings her lullabies, her mother reads her picture books, and her sister treats her to checker games.
