柯林．瑪嘉露〈Colleen McCullough〉

於1937生於澳洲新南威爾斯西部，因此有關澳洲的人文、背景，她都知之甚詳。

她是現代文壇上十分知名的女作家，擁有過人的才華。曾任美國康乃狄克州大學教授，後來居住於英國劍橋。

　　她的作品多樣，舉凡小說、傳記、散文、劇本等皆有涉獵。其處女作為《提姆》，另一部歷史小說《羅馬主人》使她得到相當高的評價，至於在1977年發表的《刺鳥》，更是使得這部以澳大利亞為背景的愛情故事傳頌到世界各地，並且被澳洲當局譽為「活著的國寶」。
