作者序

　　As new moms hoping to bring up our little ones in a biligual Chinese/English environment, we have found it hard to find Chinese children books that have all the elements that we are looking for: interesting stories, engaging illustrations, written in rhyme, with cadence - hence, we wrote our own!

　　We recognize that there are many parents now who want to provide the best environment for their children to learn Chinese even though they themselves may not be native speakers. This book provides an easy to follow phonetic pronounciation using the pinyin system - perfect for native and non-native Chinese speakers alike! In addition to the linguistic features of the book, we have also incorporated different colors as well as numbers from one to seven into the story. Children can learn the basics of colors and numbers in Chinese as they track down the red kitty and her friends!
